In the depths of a mid-life crisis as he hits his forties, Zurich filmmaker Stefan Keller is obliged to take a second job due to financial problems. Sent on a mission to assess youth hostels, anonymously, he travels all over Switzerland just before the Christmas holidays. This journey proves to be an odyssey, during which Stefan is desperately looking for a story, struggles with a failing relationship, and has chance encounters along the way that make him face the meaning of his existence. A laconically humorous road movie which skilfully blends the documentary and feature film format.
